Easter Weekend

For some reason I have been avoiding going to Orem for weeks.
I guess I was pretending I was some cool college girl who doesn't miss home.
I'm not.

My mother convinced me to come back for easter sunday and I have never been so thankful for a weekend home.
After weeks of a rather tiring back and forth with the boy, I decided it was time to end the redhead fetish phase. And nothing gets be back to my normal self again faster than a few days in Orem with the family and friends.

The only missionary I know that I actually wrote came home last weekend!
So I got to spend the weekend spending some QT with Elder Decker.
Nothing more entertaining than watching a missionary fresh off the field try to adjust to real life again.
He forgets to speak english instead of spanish, and marvels at simple grocery stores and it gives me a good little giggle. I also enjoy beginning to introduce him to every movie worth watching that came out in the last 2 years.

I also discovered that hiding the eggs for the annual easter egg hunt might be more fun than actually finding them. And watching the most adorable cousins in the world try to find them, is the most entertaining of all.
And when I tell you they are the most adorable, I mean it. You might think you know cute kids, and I am sure you do, but I hate to burst your bubble, unless you know my cousins, you haven't seen a thing.

So my little weekend was wonderful. So wonderful I find myself feeling less anxiety and more excitement about moving home for the summer.

TWO weeks people!

The photos...

Sunday Walk with friends, didn't mention it, but it happened.

Me and the Tis

the MOST adorable child ever.

Dont you wanna squeeze her!!!

Happy Easter.

An Afternoon Alone

My apartment has been vacated for Easter weekend except for me!

I dont know why I refer to this place as an apartment, but a dorm doesn't really fit either. Plus, apartment sounds cooler, and makes me sound older. Am I right?

I had my own room for the first time this semester last night, and I am loving it!
Not that I don't love my roommies. I love all of them dearly.

But now I can sleep in till noon without worrying about the judgements, which are all in my head. Most importantly, I can dance around to my music in whatever clothing, or lack there of, I would like. Which I have been doing for the past hour.
Avril and Ke$ha have been serenading me as loud as my laptop will allow, while JB watches from the family room.

So my morning, which is really afternoon, looks a lot like this.
Yep, I'm rocking the sweats and the bun hair at 2 in the afternoon. Not ashamed.

Boring but It's Looking Up

I have 25 followers now.
which is nothing compared to the hundreds other blogs have, but to little me, that number is pretty flattering.
So I have been feeling the need to blog to my 25 followers.. as a thank you for following?

The problem is, there is nothing to blog about.

Im trying to think of any kind of story to tell about my life the past couple days, and I've got nothin.

The boy dropped off of the face of the earth for a few days, he does that sometimes.
School. blah blah blah.
Group meetings. Everyday.
I registered for next fall, which is a very boring story.
They are all relatively boring stories really.

But stay tuned for the weekend. It is bound to be more exciting.
and if somehow I had 26 or 27 followers by saturday, I'd promise to make it even more exciting.

Pillow-fight dances, true aggie night, and a wedding. (unfortunately not mine)
just to wet your appetite.

[Dad it's been awhile since you offered some great blog ideas. just saying]

Rain Rain, Go Away.

The cure for rainy day blues?

Listening to my roommate Missy sing her heart out to Adele in the shower.
It literally puts a smile on my face.
I think I will have to go sing in my own shower now.
I dare you to go do the same :)

Del Taco and 80's Night!

I can't believe another weekend has come and gone!
I could of sworn I was just barely blogging about my last weekend, and here I am about to do it again.

Well I had another perfect weekend in Logan.

Friday I spent some time quality time with my besties, and then Dave decided that we needed to make a late night run to Del Taco at 1 in the morning.
You see, Del Taco is a very special place for us Orem kids. It is a consistent craving of mine and pretty much my only complaint about Logan.
They don't have a Del.
But when you need some Del, you need some Del. So we got our Logan family together and drove to Ogden to get me some hard tacos.
And let me tell ya, it was worth every second of the little trip.

Saturday I went to another frat party. Who knew those things were so fun?!
This time is was 80's themed, so we dressed up, got the gang together and spent another night dancing our bums off. Seriously, we were there form 10:30 until 1.
Im pretty sure I dropped 5 pounds on that dance floor. It was too much fun.
We grabbed a late night snack after at Taco Bel. (notice the mexican food addiction) and called it a night around 4.

My 80's Besties for Lifey

All the girls. We actually made new girlfriends, its a miracle. And we love them.

Sunday, I got my patriarchal blessing.
Ah, what an overwhelming and extremely cool experience.
There really isn't much I can share about it, but trust me when I tell you it was amazing.
It was also amazing to have my parents and sister apart of the whole thing.
How lucky am I that they would drive all the way up here just for little old me?!?

The weekend was PERFECT.
I am a lucky girl.

More Than Ready For Summer

Yesterday the temperature reached about 50 degrees in Logan.
These rare days are very near and dear to us Aggies hearts.
Without a doubt you will find groups of freshman out on what I call, our mini quad. Girls laying out on the grass with their friends, people playing sand-volleyball in short shorts, boys playing football or frisbee with their shirts off can be seen from every window.
Somehow the sun draws the pale students out of their dorms, and makes us act like its 80 degrees out instead of 55.
It's a Logan thing, and I participate in it whole heartedly.

I also participate in the head bun whole heartedly, which is probably a mistake.

And now I am burnt, and loving it.

Not Another Word, CC

On this little blog, I have always made it perfectly clear who the most important people in my life are. I mention how much I love them, and why I love them on a blogly (yes, I just made that word up.) basis.
But I'm ashamed to say it has been brought to my attention recently, that I haven't dedicated enough time to a certain person...

Catherine Camera Almeida

How have I not rambled on about this girl sooner??
CC, as she is called on the streets, is my best friend.
I've known her since I was a little girl, but we really bonded by junior and senior year of high school. Alysha, CC, and I became inseparable in those two years, despite how annoying everyone else thought we were.

CC never fails to make me laugh, I can't ever spend more than a few hours with her without breaking out in laughter. Her laugh is very contagious.
She was also always there for me. some of my hardest times in high school, which all seem very trivial now, I got through because of this girl.

She also knew how to put us all in our place.
She might be the youngest out of our group of friends but you'd never know it.
Anytime we were doing something, or saying something that CC didn't think was right, she could make us feel guilty with one look. One eye brow raise.
She made us better people, or at least she made me a better person.

Now that I am in college and CC is in her last year of high school, our relationship has changed a bit.
She found some lucky new friends, and we all moved forward in our lives.
We don't talk on the phone everyday, or text every detail of our lives to each other, cause we don't need to.
Every time I come home to this girl, it's like things never changed.
In-fact, most of these reunions lead to happy tears, which is a little bit ridiculous, but thats us.
I know that girl will always be here for me.
And I can't wait for her to be up at USU with me in the fall!!!
love love love Miss Catherine Almeida.

Some precious moments we've shared together...

The End is Near

School is ending and this means a few things for me...

1. My last group project for my Media Smarts class.
I am surprised I haven't blogged about these projects before, because let me tell ya, they have slowly consumed my life. And as this last project's due date gets closer, the time I spend in the library get more and more ridiculous.
6 hours of straight ridiculousness to be exact.
But I love my group, we have bonded over all those library visits.
so I count myself lucky.

Alex is my favorite. You can't tell by this picture, but he is dreamy :)

Ill almost miss these nights when the semester ends.

2. I will find out about my princess future! I occupy lots of my time by checking my e-mail constantly. But Bri says they will torture me and probably not let us know till Friday... Rude.

3. I am trying to soak up every second with my USU loved ones before I have 4 months of separation, or in some cases 2 years. Everything lately seems to remind me how little time we have left.
Sometimes I feel like I am the only one who is completely stressing out at this thought! Aren't you stressed?!?!

4. I am losing some motivation for my classes... or rather one class.
You all know what class I'm referring to.
That is what I look forward to most, the END of that class and the misery it brings into my blissful life.
But we cant really talk about my true feelings about this class cause my parentals read this blog and I will receive one unhappy phone call...
School is so much fun Mom and Dad, I love it soooo much :)

So one of the biggest chapters in my life is coming to an end. I can't believe how fast my first year in college flew by. Even though I am stressed, and heartbroken to see it end, I am excited for what comes next...
whatever that is.

Waiting For The Fairytale

So I found a picture that sums up my saturday and my sunday...

Ken and me ogling Mr. Ryan Gosling.

The only bad thing about dedicating 1 1/2 days to watching movies, is now Im completely unsatisfied with my life being anything but exactly like The Notebook.
Not to mention, my husband has to look as fabulous in a trench coat at dusk as Mr. Darcy does.

Is that too much to ask for?

Till then you can find me waiting here for my fairytale to fall into place;
at my kitchen counter, in my PJ's at 12:30, wishing we had some milk.

4.10.2011

And Then There's Saturday

Saturday =

one good nap.
5 great movies with the roommates.
Epic deleted scenes.
One tender roommate bonding discussion.
3 rounds of karaoke. (which we caught on film, but I will not be sharing)
And 0 pictures.

Somehow all that nothingness took us till 4 in the morning to finish.
and I enjoyed every second of it.

404 you complete me.

4.07.2011

The Weekend!

This weekend will be the first all semester that all of my friends will be here!
We haven't made it one weekend where at least two of my roommates were gone, so needless to say, I am very excited to spend one of my last weekends in Logan with everyone here.

We started it off right tonight by going to see a hypnotist show and tomorrow we will go to the Logan temple for the first time to do some baptisms.
I'm not sure what else the weekend has in store but I am so excited to find out!
Stay posted people, there will be pictures.

3.31.2011

Recovered and Leaving

Well I am fully recovered and completely happy.

Unfortunately, I am so happy I've forgotten some things that normally I revolve around, like my camera.
To be honest, I am not even sure when I last set that pretty thing.
Thats how much I forget to use it these days.

I am going to Idaho tomorrow with a group of friends for general conference weekend, so here's hoping I pick up my old picture taking ways.

or more importantly that I actually find my camera.. Otherwise this blog is about to get even more boring than it already is.

3.25.2011

Sickly Sick

Lets talk about what I've been up to the last 5 days.
Absolutely nothing.
As it turns out, being sick is pretty uneventful.

Spent 2 1/2 days throwing up and crying in my logan dorm, until my parentals decided that it was time that I brought the sickness home.
5 pounds, 3 doctor visits, 2 missed days of school, and 1 blessing later, I am feeling better.
Mostly.

Next time I am fantasizing about getting a little sickness, thinking it'll be a nice few days of relaxation, set me straight people!!!
Being sick is the worst.

So here is a lovely picture of me and my new best friend, the heating pad.

My Best Friend's Wedding

My best friend is MARRIED!

I really can't think of any sentence that can capture how absolutely crazy and amazing this statement is.  Or how insane it is that my best friend's name is now Alysha LANHAM!

Whoa.

I had the privilege to be a bridesmaid for this beautiful event, so my weekend was full of running around doing all sorts of marriage things, and trying to keep my friends who came down from Logan to go to the reception happy and busy. And although I felt like I never had a second to fully relax, it was a very fun weekend.

We kicked off the wedding celebrations with a wedding dinner Friday night.
It was held in the sky room for the family, and most importantly of course, the best friends.
Don't be fooled by the fact that we had to sit on the table furthest from the bride and her groom, or that we were served our food very last. We are the most important! (or at least that's what we joked about all weekend)
The food was delicious, and the people were great.
I love the Parsons and the Lanhams way too much for my own good.
Unfortunately this would be the place where the tears began to flow. Everyone was giving little speeches for Lysha and Jesse, and when my turn came along, I was practically sobbing in the first second that I looked at my best friends face.
Fortunately, CC, Alysha and I have this emotional connection so they cried just as hard as me, and I felt a little less ridiculous.
I think I may have managed to choke out a pretty good little speech too.

Best Friends at the Dinner.

Tears and hugs over with, next was the wedding Saturday morning.
CC and I drove to the Salt Lake temple around 12, and waited in the waiting room with other friends and family. 2 hours, and 2 very sore feet from standing in heels later, the HUSBAND and WIFE came out to greet their cold guests!
We took some cold pictures, and then hurried home.
I had enough time to get into my bridesmaids dress and try and fix the mess I call my hair, and I was off to the wedding reception.

The wedding reception was BEAUTIFUL! I helped my Bestie get into her wedding dress again, we took some cold pictures, visited with family and friends, I caught the wedding bouquet (lysha basically threw it in my face haha) and we watched the Bride and Groom have their first dance.
I honestly have never seen two happier people in my whole life. They were glowing, and grinning from ear to ear. It was so incredibly beautiful.

Some of Alysha's Bridesmaids

My GORGEOUS, MARRIED bestie!

ABC! :)

The best friends, minus Starlee who couldn't make it.

The first best friend to get married, 6 more to go.
I can't wait for the opportunity to see all the people I love as happy as Alysha was that night.

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Lanham!

Math Equals Misery

Math is pure misery.
There is a plethora of terrible things I would rather do than even think about math.

They include...

-Clean toilets.
-Run a marathon. (if you know me, you know this is big.)
-Eat beans and vegetables.
-Watch golf on TV.
-Wake up at 6 in the morning
-Have my fingernails ripped off.

Unfortunately I'm doing none of these things.
I am sitting in a classroom listening to math lingo that is so painful I am considering changing my major; Mastering the custodial field sounds like heaven right now.

A Princess's Best Friend, Please.

Well spring break has finally come to an end, after I extended it to try out to work in DisneyWorld on Tuesday.
I have decided I would really like to become Belle, Sleeping Beauty, or Cinderella's "Best Friend" this summer. That involves moving to Florida, working in DisneyWorld and a little auditioning.
When I was preparing to audition, I was super nervous, and I found it so calming and helpful to stumble upon people's blogs who has gone through the experience.

So I thought I would do the same for some future auditioner, who by some miracle stumbles upon this little 22 follower blog.

It begins with finding/taking a headshot. The taking pictures was enjoyable for me, but the picking them out and printing them off was not.
We ended up with this.

My sister took it with her new camera, and she is in no way a professional, yet. So don't judge, but we liked it.

Then Bri helped my friends Lindsey, and Hillary, and I practice our improv acting skills. Which we have none of, so it was pretty hilarious. She had us play a few games that helped us think on our feet, and stop worrying about looking foolish.
(During the audition this ended up being very helpful.)
After the games, we went to bed at a lovely 2:30 in the morning.
We woke up at 6:45 for all 3 of us could get ready, and pick up my friend CC in time to be at the auditions,  by 8:30 sharp.
Little to no sleep at all. awesome.

In the audition, they checked everyone in, all 130 of us.
We handed in our head-shots, and applications. We were measured and had a photo taken.

Then we learned this little dance number, incredibly easy, it was basically marching in place. We did it across the floor, facing the judges in groups of 4.
Then they made the first cuts.
I made it! whew.

Next they taught us a more difficult dance. It was a lot harder for me to get down, but my friends with a lot of dance experience got the steps down with no problems.
Then, they made us improv. We had to pretend we were washing a dog, and make it interesting, funny and tell a story. We also had to pretend we were monkeys. Pretty embarrassing, but everyone looked as stupid as I did, so I was able to relax.
So we preformed around 4 counts of 8 of improv acting and then jumped right into the dance, all in front of the judges, once again in small groups of 4.
After we finished dancing, the 4 of us stood in a line, in front of the judges and smiled while they talked about us.
They asked a very few amount to stay, and told the rest that they were done and could expect an answer in 4 weeks.
Hillary and I were asked to stay. They took photos of us again, and then I was dismissed. Hillary had to do the dance once more time, while they filmed her.
After that, the auditions were over, and we were completely exhausted.
(My body is pathetically sore this morning, and I slept in till 12 trying to catch up on the sleep I didn't get.)
Overall the experience was a lot of fun, and I was really glad I worked up the nerve to go do it.

This is my little audition number, just trying to capture the memories on photo booth.

So I should hear something in about 4 weeks.
Wish me luck!

I Call it D-Land, Cause We're Close like That.

So I went to Disneyland. Again.
Remember how last time I struggled to find my inner-child?
Weeeeeell,
Not much has changed.

I had a good time, don't get me wrong.
The sun was shining, I spent time with my Sis and Braden, I rode some sweet rides, and ate two huge, delicious cinnamon rolls.

Plus, Bri has all the hook-ups so it's all free and stuff.

But I discovered something about my inner kid self, it only comes out when I get to sleep in, and then stay up until the wee hours of the morning.
It dies pretty fast when I have to wake up at seven and stay out till midnight.
In fact it dies right about noon and never comes back.
Thus,
Me + Disneyland= Not cut out to happen more than once every 2 years.

But I cannot say enough times how grateful I am to have the opportunity to go.
I loved having a break from school and snow.
I loved the short lived moments on roller-coasters and terror towers.
So the consensus is, my weekend was Grrrreat!

My idea of vacation just involves more beach sitting and sun bathing, thats all.

Some photos???

okay!

PS: World Of Color is AMAZING!!! It almost brought tears to my eyes.
Everyone, run to California Adventure just to see this.

After A While

My roommate asked me what my favorite poem was today, for one of her school assignments. Because of a poem my high school english teacher once shared with me, I know the answer to that question in a second.
And I loved having a reason to reread it.

After A While
By: Veronica A. Shofftshall

After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul.

And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security.

And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises.

And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead, with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child.

And you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans, and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight. .

After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.

So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to leave you flowers.

And you learn that you really can endure;
You really are strong, you really do have worth.
And you learn, and you learn
With every goodbye you learn.

A Weekend To Remember

I have become a regular old pro at staying whole weekends at Utah State.
And this weekend was the most successful yet!

Friday was full of the regular old USU family.
My twins, and red head boys hung out with us all night.
(I know you are happy to hear that mom.)
Somewhere around 2 in the morning, we decided to pull our first college prank.
We took out the light bulbs in both of the elevators and hid them on the 5th floor. So for the rest of the night, and part of the next day, anyone who needed to take the elevator had no other choice but to take it in COMPLETE darkness.
It is pretty creepy. but the college kids actually gotta big kick out of it.
They road it up and down in groups all night.

We got a kick out of watching the fun we accidentally created for everyone.

We actually got our second prank out of the way in the same night as well...
We filled our empty trash can with water, and titled it against our boys room door.
Then we knock, run away, the door opens, the trash can falls over into the room, water everywhere.
Funny right?
But don't feel bad for them because they got us back. like 3 separate times. Including a water fight, and our own trash can fiasco.
The rest of the night involved Bunlimpics, and not getting to bed till 6 in the morning.
It was perfect.
Some wet girls after the water fight

Saturday started bright and early with some deep cleaning of the apartment before my bridal shower guests arrived. Then we decorated, got the party stuff together, and cooked some baked goods.
And FINALLY the party arrived!
We ordered pizza, ate yummy food, and caught up.
Then on to the naughty games. LOTS of fun.
An adorable soon-to-be-newlywed game video made by yours truly.
The opening of some beautiful presents.
A fashion show :)
The boys stopped by to visit Lyshy for probably the last time.
cucumbers and face-masks.
Brought the mattresses out on the floor for a giant sleepover bed.
Watched Just Married, and fell asleep.

I realize that was the most boring way to tell you about that night, but it was too great, too much happened, it could not be written down on a blog.

All you really need to know is, I am the BEST maid of honor in the world.
Women should hire me to be their MOH's. I deserve the big bucks for my talents.

Up-Coming Bridal Party!

Have I mentioned my BESTIE is getting married?

Well she is, March 19th.

I am pretty sure most of the people who read my blog already know this.
It is big news. very exciting.

So of course, I am throwing her a bridal shower/bachelorette party!
It will be the celebration of the season.
The party, I mean, but probably the wedding too.

I have been so excited about this for a little over a month now. I finally got all of the party supplies together these past two days, and it has made me a bit of an eager beaver.
My friends have had to talk me out of putting up decorations, and putting together party bags weeks in advance.

But FINALLY the party is tomorrow!!!
I hope it lives up to all of the expectations I have built in my head.

More importantly, I hope it stops snowing, so those coming up from Orem will make it safely. The guest of honor is pretty imperative for the party.
So keep my little party in your prayers :)

And stay posted for what I'm SURE will be some quality pictures.

{Tis' the season to get married everyone}

Bieber Fever

A fact I failed to share but decided was very relevant to my life right now...

I am a straight up bieliber.

(a bieliber is a dedicated fan of Mr. Justin Bieber.)

Say what you will, but that boy is ADORABLE. He can sing his little heart out to me any day.
and after going to the concert myself, and seeing the Bieber movie (which I would recommend to anyone), I decided it's time to become an open fan.

So naturally my roommates and I bought 5 JB posters.

Our family room is finally complete.

We now have Bieber Fever everyday!

Tagged

I received a complaint that I hadn't blogged in some time, but the truth is I don't feel like there is anything to blog about!
Then, like she heard my prayers, this lady tagged me on her blog, and saved the day!

The rules of blog tagging are:
1. You must share 15 interesting facts about yourself
2. You must tag 5 other people

Sounds like fun right?

Here we go.

1. I have this groove in my front tooth that I never knew was abnormal till a dental student pointed it out to me.

2. I cannot have a pinky toe nail. Whenever that little nail starts to grow, I have to rip it off. Often without noticing I did so.

3. I think if headaches had a smell, they would smell like Swedish Fish.

4. I have never seen a rated R movie.

5. I hate when the AC/Heat is turned to the highest speed in the car. any car. In my car, that speed is a 4. Braden likes to test to see if I really notice the difference between 3 and 4. I do.

6. I really love to read.

7. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people add an S onto Nordstrom.

8. My tailbone curves under, and probably always will. Reason unknown.

9. I have never broken a bone, or even gotten stitches.

10. I was not sad when Skinny died in Step Up.

11. I make pretty yummy cookies, if I do say so myself, and homemade pancakes.

12. I am surprisingly happy in the mornings, my dads favorite quality about me.

13. I love to take and even be in pictures. all the kinds of pictures. But I have zero desire or ability to be a photographer.

14. I absolutely hate to blow dry my hair and hang up clothes.

15. I hate when other people plug my nose.

Whew! we made it through.

Now the 5 people I tag, If they ever read this, are:

1. Jordan Metcalf
2. Bri Borup
3. CC Almeida
4. Heather Friden
5. Courtney Kearns

Freshman Free Day!

School is hard.
But I discovered the solution to the over-whelmed school blues.
A Freshman Free Day!

So one night when I was feeling a particularly extreme amount of school anxiety, I decided the next day I was going to get some friends together and just be FREE.
Free from studying, classes, stress, worry, and sleep deprivation.

Hilly, Ken, and I started our adventure around noon.
(because waking up before that would defeat the purpose of free day.)

First, we went to Deseret Book, for a purpose that will later be revealed.
So I parked the car, grabbed my bag, jumped out of my car, and slammed the door.
But the door wouldn't close... I checked around to see if my coat or seat belt had gotten stuck in the door way. nope. So naturally, I slammed the door again.
And then my ipod fell to the ground.
Bent in a way I never even knew was possible.

My newly replaced ipod broken. My heart, broken.

Next, since we woke up too late for breakfast, we had a little lunch.
We ate at this really yummy mexican place that I cannot remember the name to.

Then we bowled. At this little alley called Logan Lanes that we love, even though they are the only place in Logan that doesn't give an Aggie discount.
I only bowled 2 strikes in 2 games.
and I never broke 100. But when it comes to bowling, I am a pretty good sport.
(unlike when I play card games)

STRIKES!

Then we had a little ice cream treat at Charlie's. Some rave about this place, but personally I was unimpressed. But Ken won bowling, and we losers promised to buy her a shake.

Next, we drove to Logan Canyon to try and find the infamous 15 foot tall snowman. We drove, and drove, and drove, and drove. And ken started feeling car sick.  and we continued to drive.
Finally when were on the verge of giving up, we found it!!!
We pulled over, and got out to take some pictures. Totally worth the 40 min drive.
Then we got stuck in the snow.. Luckily some friendly men pulled over and managed to get the car out. Then I struggled for 15 min to try and get my car out of 4-low... We smiled and pretended we were looking at pictures so the helpful strangers wouldn't know how retarded we are.

We finished with feeding some birds, and went and tried on some clothes at D.I.
The day was just what we needed.
And to finish it off, we discovered my Ipod still plays music!
The screen, on the other hand, is a goner.

On a completely different subject, Happy Lovers Day! :)
I hope you found ways to reach out to the people you love.
I know nothing makes me happier faster than when I find kind things to do for others.
It's not too late to celebrate the holiday if you didn't take advantage of it yesterday :)

"You never know who you're going to be exposed to"

Do you know what?
Life is pretty great.

The time goes by so quickly these days. One week flows into the next without too much thought of home.
My roommates, best friends and I have become a special little family of our own.
And this new family makes it much easier to be away from the family I've left in Orem.
This past week has been full of laughs, secret blanket forts, stolen furniture, group meetings, wakee six, baked goods, one really bad movie, styling, and roommate snuggling.

I want to live with these people FOREVER!

forgo marriage maybe?

I now find that when I am home home, I miss my snow home.

We are going to go slam all 5 of us roommates onto a giant combined bed in the Mrs. room and spend the night together watching movies.
So I must be going.

Pictures that don't come close to capturing the joy:

Worth Reading

Sometimes there is nothing I feel is worth blogging about.
This is one of those times.
When that happens I usually look to other's blogs, but often, like today, none of you have posted anything new!
So I discovered this...

One Incredible Lady

I feel like I may be the last mormon on earth to not stumble upon this already.
But just incase I'm not, I thought I would share it with you.

It is something worth reading.
(Mormon or not)

Here is a little hint...

I Make a Difference

Yesterday I had the opportunity to donate blood for the first time!

I have always wanted to donate, but I was always too young, or been out of the country too recently. So this was my first chance!
My roommate, the Mrs. agreed to do it with me, so I wouldn't have to do it all by myself. And all of the other roommies agreed to come, but not to donate. Fears of blood and needles run rampant around here.
The Mrs. sang her own songs about donating all the way there. skipping and running.
They went something like...
"You want blood from me? I'll give you my blood it's free!"

As it turns out, Mrs. didn't have enough iron. Though they had to draw blood from both of her finger tips to tell her that.

My Iron, on the other hand, was grrrreat! and I donated a pint of my blood.
I just save up to 3 people, or 10 babies.
It hurt, like kind of a lot, but it was worth it! And Ken held my hand the whole time :)

They give you the sticker BEFORE you donate. so Mrs. got one anyway.
Plus, it's the thought that counts right?

I make a DIFFERENCE! Woo!

It's just never a flattering angle, but it had to be taken.

Instead of FB

So I decided to go on a little Facebook fast.
Credit goes to Poe :)
I started yesterday almost immediately after I wrote my last entry.
I decided to stay away from the FB for a whole week.
And not just put my status as offline, so people don't know I am on Facebook, like my dear sister does :)

I have been tempted to log on many times already, but I am staying strong.
But I know the only way I am going to survive is if I consistently blog.
What is so addicting about sharing my life with others??
Who knows, but be ready for a full week of my precious thoughts.

So lets talk about my weekend. So those of you who stalk me on FB (CC, and parents) can have your daily fill :)

Friday evening I went to dinner with my Borup family at CPK. It was delicious and although I fought back tears when the topic of my kitty came up, I enjoyed the company of my family.

Saturday started with helping Braden paint his room. It was a surprising arm/hand work out, but I was pretty dang good at it. I did like 70% of the work :)

Then Braden took me to the Rec. Center to try and teach me how to play rball. I was not very good... but I can catch the ball with my left hand really well. Braden was a great teacher, and more importantly he was very very patient with me.
More embarrassing than my actual lack of skills, is the fact that I was incredibly sore the next day... next two days actually.. haha

Saturday night I went to dinner with my Orem besties, CC and Miss Lysha! I missed them so much! Dinner was so dang yummy, and the QT (quality time) was even better. They are the greatest. And surprisingly enough, not one picture was taken between me and Lysh. woops.

It was such a good weekend. (minus the death of my childhood pet)
I am so happy I came home.

Now I am back at school. Spending another weekend here in Logan, cause I am so independent and amazing these days.
And I am sure I will update you on my daily activities before you even get the chance to wonder.

(I hope all of you know me well enough to catch all my sarcasm...)
