the blog world!

I discovered a few new blogs to follow today and it just made me think,

I love the blog world!

Blog people are like Hikers.
When you are out on a hike, everyone is always smiling at you, and saying hi to everyone and their dogs. literally.

Or maybe we are more like motorcyclists.
Ya know, like when you're on a motorcycle, and you pass someone else on a motorcycle, and you get the head nod.
And we don't hand out those head nods freely, just to those people in the gang.

It's like some how we are specially connected.
We appreciate each other for taking the time to write about our lives, even if they aren't even remotely exciting.
And we accept the fact that stalking or "creepin" on each other is the biggest form of blog flattery.
And honestly, no one ever leaves mean comments or says rude things. We just read, and respect, and have this little instant internet friendship.

And I'm lovin it!

And since I have posted too many times without a picture, here is me, fresh out of a good nights sleep, given you two thumbs up! cause thats how much I love it!

Thoughts Before a Nap

It's funny how things work out.
It's also funny the way they don't.

People always say that "everything happens for a reason", and "it will all turn out the way it's supposed to in the end", but it continues to surprise me how true that really is.

I caught up with a really special friend over texting today; the communication of our generation today, pathetic.
And as we caught up on each others lives, me not returning to USU, and his recent engagement, we congratulated each other on the others happiness, especially his upcoming nuptials.
He very sweetly said to me, "If I hadn't already been in love when I met you, I would have wanted there to be something between us. You were a great friend and we always got along really well. You're guy is lucky."

I started to cry.
First, because I'm a woman and it is that time, but mostly because it was sweet, and I think it's beautiful the way god puts every persons journey together, specified to their wants and needs.
There are so many pathways to the right destination, none better than the next, but I do believe there is one specific one meant for everyone.
I know I'm on my pathway, and my friend is on his, but it is really cool to get a glimpse of an alternate pathway. One that for one reason or another just didn't quite fit.

It is no coincidence the way things all seem to fall into place.
The time that people cross or join your path. The paths you cross, or choose to avoid completely. The bumps, dips, and steep hills.
Everything is too ironic, too easy, or too perfect to have happened simply on accident.
And I think that's pretty beautiful.

Don't Underestimate the Duff

"Never let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game"
Remember that cheesy quote from the Hillary Duff classic, A Cinderella Story??

Well that little pearl has been on my mind a lot lately... Naturally, since everything Duff says is so thought provoking.

But seriously, is there ever a time when fear should keep you from doing what you want?
I mean, where does self preservation come in?
Or is self preservation just a form of pride? Just people scared of feeling vulnerable or looking foolish?

I think at the end of the day, even if I look like a dumb nugget, I'm heartbroken, and I lose the game, I'd respect myself more, and have less regrets, knowing I gave it an honest shot.

Am I right?!?

But then sometimes I think, "Girl, why did you sit on the porch swing crying your eyes out for him to stay with you?! How embarrassing you dingy! Where did your self preservation instincts go?! Stupid."
Just as a hypothetical, non-specific example....

Im rambling over here. Trying to get my thoughts out so I can fall asleep.
And maybe dream of Chad Michael Murray; prior to the Sophia Bush debacle, of course.

You should most likely ignore this post completely.
