It feels like home to me

Have I mentioned we bought ourselves a little home?
As in, we've begun renting what we refer to as our home.
Well, we did.

I realize I am pretty much on the ball, or maybe a bit past the ball, when it comes to the whole wedding, and marriage situation.
So what if I had a wedding dress before I had a ring? And so what if I found myself a little home two months before I have a husband?

The extremely early bird catches all the worms.

Heres a little peek.

Living/Dining Room. My favorite room of the house.
Lots of natural light, the wall color, carpet, and light fixture, all fit me just fine.

The itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny room we call our kitchen.
It might be small, but I love it all the same.

The bathroom, that yes, we have already begun decorating.
Kohls was having a good sale okay!? It's a work in progress.

The bedroom. It needs some serious lighting, but we like it.

And the best room in the whole little house.....
Ta-Da! The CLOUD room.
We are pretty sure the previous owners had a baby... and as adorable as it is, the clouds have got to go.

And last, my little porch/deck/backyard.
Picture twinkle lights, a bench, and lots of flower pots.

There it is, our first home. All it needs is a little TLC.
We are excited to start painting, and cleaning and planning, and moving over the next 2 months.
Come January, you can come visit the O'Gwin's anytime you'd like.

Everyday is like Christmas Eve thinking of all the happy things to come.
Zane literally can't sleep at night lately. It's pretty cute.

Breakfast

It's 7 AM, and I only got 6 hours of sleep, thus I'm falling asleep in my cubicle...
So this is my breakfast.
Yum.

when I grow up

After Matt Nathanson, and watching this video....

I have never wanted to be a rockstar more in my whole life.
completely realisitic career goal, I know.

Forget Justin Bieber, I have converted.

I don't know if I want to be him, be his best friend, or marry him.
Or maybe I just want to go to a 30 seconds to mars concert...
But because Zane reads this blog, and I promised to keep all men objectification strictly for Zane, we will go with I just want to be Jared Leto's best friend.
(Zane, you showed me this. It's your own fault.)

I think I'll watch this video one last time before I take a little nap.
*crossing my fingers I dream I'm a rockstar*

A little halloweeny

Last night we finally got into the holiday spirit.
Nothing says halloween more than carmel apples and carving pumpkins.

Reese's Carmel Apple. You've gotta try it.

My too cute hubby to be.

Helping the boy finish his pumpkin

Yeah.. the black eyes look a little funny.

Probably the best I've carved my whole life.

I'm feeling ready for the holiday season now!
Can't wait to spend it with Zaner.

Matt Nathanson

Way back in the beginning of August, I bought some Matt Nathanson concert tickets for Zane's birthday.
I remember the day I told my mom, I was buying the tickets about 3 months in advance, and she said to me, "That's putting a lot of faith in your relationship, isn't it?"
And now look at us, the concert has finally arrived, and not only are we still together but betrothed :)
Life is funny sometimes. Not really in a ha-ha sort of way, but a beautiful coincidental kind of way.

While we waited outside The Venue, some slightly tipsy, but friendly 40 year old divorced mom sisters started to make friends with us. They kept saying over and over how cute we were, sometimes they would clutch my chin while they said it.
They kept telling me I looked like Mena Suvari too. Except I mostly don't, see?

Well, I thought it was funny, but I think Zane was getting a little irritated, especially when they continued to tell us, "Just don't get married!"
I held up my ring. They asked us how old we were, and freaked out a little bit when I said I was 19. And then asked us if we were getting married in the LDS temple, and we said yes, and yet again they were disappointed.
When they got distracted with hitting on the younger boys in front of us, the sweetest couple behind us, a little older than the drunk sisters said, "Don't listen to them. We're going on 25 years, and I got married the week before I turned 19. When you find 'em, you've just got to hold on."
Zane and I thought the whole interaction was pretty cool.
And who do you think we listened to, the drunk , divorced, 40 somethin women, hitting on 20 somethin boys? Or the happy, nice, married couple out on a date night to a concert together?
No contest there.
It's baffling to me that the world doesn't see it the same way...

Anyway, we did finally make it inside. It was such an amazing concert, one of the best I've been to in awhile.
Matt, as Zane calls him, is a really talented artist. He put together some really cool medleys. And surprisingly, kept the concert really clean. No swearing, and hardly any references to sex.
Also, Fun Fact for you, Matt Nathanson's drummer is from little old OREM!
We thought that was neat.

After the concert we got some "Brinner", as the O'Gwin's say, at Village Inn and then went to bed.
It was a  much needed perfect date night.

And here is a little glimpse for ya...

Sorry it's kinda loud in there, so the sound is basically terrible.

Other Than Zane

Last night I went to dinner with my best friends.
Everyone, except for Hillary in Ecuador, was able to come! It was a lot of fun to have everyone together.
Not that I don't LOVE spending time with Zaner, it just never hurts to have a little girl time.
I am so grateful for my beautiful grilfriends.

More proof that I do spend time with more people than just my fiance, I went on a walk with my cute sis and pooch today.
We decided we are going to go on a walk every Friday afternoon, starting today.
Even though poor Dallas is getting old, and was limping the whole time, she still seemed to love it.
It was some good QT!

And don't we look gooooooood??
I did wear socks with my Toms. Not sure why that happened.

Buddies

Cool little bush home, and uuh isn't my pooch the cutest!?

Happy Weekend!

Werk.

I have a job.
I work at a lovely little place called Mozy.
We do computer backups.

Basically, you call us to secure the information on your computer. So when it crashes, or you throw it at a wall, we can restore everything you lost.
Pretty neat stuff.

And basically what I do is, when your credit card is canceled or expires, I call and e-mail you until you update it.
It's a glamorous job to be sure.

Pros:
-My boss is pretty relaxed, and so is everyone else.
-I get paid 12 bucks an hour, not too shabby.
- I get paid once a week.
- I've got a sweet badge with my picture on it to get me in the building.
-I get my own cubicle, Career dream accomplished!
- I get some almost cool free stuff, or as my boss calls it, "swag"

For example...

My Mozy mug, and my slightly inappropriate company T-shirt.

Cons:
-Sometimes people don't want to give me their money, so they aren't super nice.
-I have to wake up at 6 every stinkin' morning, which I am beginning to think may be the reality of the rest of my life...
Did you guys know it's pitch black, and freezing at 6 AM??
I didn't.

All the fall temperature drop means to me, is when I leave work at noon, I don't look completely ridiculous in the UGGS and scarf that seemed perfectly appropriate when I woke up that morning.
The people who work the the afternoon shift, walking in with sandals and shorts on, look at me funny as I walk out into the now 80 degree sunlight bundled like I still live in Logan.

Freezing cold and tired, I still consider myself lucky to have a good job.

mushy meant-to-be details

I'm blogging twice in one day, cause I'm in a Zane mood, okay?!
It's fine.

When Zane saw me for the first time, in person, it was at graduation 2011.
I was there for CC, and he was there for his little sister Catie.
I never saw him, but since he was already Facebook creepin' on me, he was able to spot me.

And then, lo and behold, he, and the rest of my future family, shows up in the background of all my pictures.

And the 2nd conversation we ever had went something like this...

    • So you might think I'm a big creep BUT I'm pretty sure I saw you yesterday...

    • haha really?! Im guessing at graduation?

    • yup haha
    • and I thought hey I know her...kinda...haha

    • I saw Nate, but I didn't see you. Im sorry for not creepin back

    • I dont know if you need to apologize for that :)

    • Im surprised you recognized me ina crowd

    • yeah me too...
    • I dont know even know if it was you..honestly but I think it was
    • I promise I'm a stand up young man...not a creep...I'm just observant ??..

    • well was I cute?

    • haha the girl that I saw was beautiful ;)

    • haha ah well than, lets hope it was me

    • but you cant exactly take credit for it because I'm still not 100 % it was you ;) haha

    • haha ah I was hoping you would let me get away with that

    • if you think back to when you saw nate...if you can remember an extremely handsome man hanging out with him..
    • that was probably our other brother..
    • and then if you can think back to who was next to our brother there was a radiant glowing almost hard to look at young man...
    • that was me ;)

    • is that one you?
    • why are you glowing? haha

    • because i'm pure and not a creep..
    • creeps cant glow

    • hahaha I dont think you are creepin

    • ok
    • good!
    • haha ya know I realize that I'm only a percent of the funny that I am on chat compared to reality
    • just fyi

    • youre funnier in person?

    • almost too funny...

    • thats hard to imagine, cause you had me literally laughing out loud a second ago
    • so you're doin okay

    • well that is fantastic then

    • if I ever see you in person, there is a lot of pressure on you now

    • i'm not scared.....
    • i'm pretty brave

    • oh yeah. youre just pointing out all your great qualities arent ya

    • if there is one thing i'm good at...its bravery
    • hahaha
    • I cant act like this its hard to be a db
    • haha

    • hahaha

    • I dont even know you and I'm already showing how weird I am haha
    • I cant believe myself sometimes

    • haha might as well get it out in the open

    • i suppose

    • I would figure it out eventually right

    • haha well maybe
    • I'll tell you what...

    • I'm going to show you how brave I am...

    • here is my number 801.555.5555... ( I inserted fake number for Zanes protection)
    • I'm giving this to a stranger
    • (you)
    • and I could be prank called

    • thats the act of bravery?

    • YAH
    • are you kidding
    • i'm shaking right now

    • wouldn't it be braver of me to actually use that number

    • mmm...maybe

It's hard to say who is the bigger nerd...
Regardless, in the end, I gave him my number, and he called me two days later to ask me on our first date.
I was seconds away from ignoring his call, because that's what I always do, when suddenly my finger was pressing the answer button.
He asked me how I felt about ice cream, I lied and said I loved it, and we made plans for Tuesday evening.

And that my friends is where the obsession started for him.
I, to no surprise, didn't catch on till our second date.
Always one step behind Zane, story of my life :)
