A Princess's Best Friend, Please.

Well spring break has finally come to an end, after I extended it to try out to work in DisneyWorld on Tuesday.
I have decided I would really like to become Belle, Sleeping Beauty, or Cinderella's "Best Friend" this summer. That involves moving to Florida, working in DisneyWorld and a little auditioning.
When I was preparing to audition, I was super nervous, and I found it so calming and helpful to stumble upon people's blogs who has gone through the experience.

So I thought I would do the same for some future auditioner, who by some miracle stumbles upon this little 22 follower blog.

It begins with finding/taking a headshot. The taking pictures was enjoyable for me, but the picking them out and printing them off was not.
We ended up with this.

My sister took it with her new camera, and she is in no way a professional, yet. So don't judge, but we liked it.

Then Bri helped my friends Lindsey, and Hillary, and I practice our improv acting skills. Which we have none of, so it was pretty hilarious. She had us play a few games that helped us think on our feet, and stop worrying about looking foolish.
(During the audition this ended up being very helpful.)
After the games, we went to bed at a lovely 2:30 in the morning.
We woke up at 6:45 for all 3 of us could get ready, and pick up my friend CC in time to be at the auditions,  by 8:30 sharp.
Little to no sleep at all. awesome.

In the audition, they checked everyone in, all 130 of us.
We handed in our head-shots, and applications. We were measured and had a photo taken.

Then we learned this little dance number, incredibly easy, it was basically marching in place. We did it across the floor, facing the judges in groups of 4.
Then they made the first cuts.
I made it! whew.

Next they taught us a more difficult dance. It was a lot harder for me to get down, but my friends with a lot of dance experience got the steps down with no problems.
Then, they made us improv. We had to pretend we were washing a dog, and make it interesting, funny and tell a story. We also had to pretend we were monkeys. Pretty embarrassing, but everyone looked as stupid as I did, so I was able to relax.
So we preformed around 4 counts of 8 of improv acting and then jumped right into the dance, all in front of the judges, once again in small groups of 4.
After we finished dancing, the 4 of us stood in a line, in front of the judges and smiled while they talked about us.
They asked a very few amount to stay, and told the rest that they were done and could expect an answer in 4 weeks.
Hillary and I were asked to stay. They took photos of us again, and then I was dismissed. Hillary had to do the dance once more time, while they filmed her.
After that, the auditions were over, and we were completely exhausted.
(My body is pathetically sore this morning, and I slept in till 12 trying to catch up on the sleep I didn't get.)
Overall the experience was a lot of fun, and I was really glad I worked up the nerve to go do it.

This is my little audition number, just trying to capture the memories on photo booth.

So I should hear something in about 4 weeks.
Wish me luck!
